Omega Men's 2210.50.00 Seamaster Planet Ocean Automatic Chronometer Chronograph Watch

This watch is really beautiful, very solid and of very high quality like all Omegas. The only bad thing about it is that once you have this one you'll want the orange one too. It will last a lifetime

Make me happy every time I look at it. Beware - it's not for everybody. This is a honking timepiece here. It's wide in circumference, yes, but definitely not as "I have a wall clock on my wrist" as some of the Breitlings. However, this thing is thick and heavy. If you want to always know your watch is there, it's for you. The arm you were it on is probably going to be more fit than the other though.

Also you can dive to 600M. I understand that is a lot. Definitely deeper than your bathtub or pool. So you're covered. Also, have you ever looked at your watch and said -" damn- this thing has too much damned helium in it." Most watches, where can you go from there? No where. You're stuck. But this one? BAM. Helium release valve.

On a more serious note, very high quality you can see and feel, lots of attention to detail. I love the look of the back of this thing.

Only 2 stars for this watch. While i do not own this particular brand, i do own a Planet Ocean 2200.50.00 which has the DOUBLE ANTI GLARE ( anti glare on inside and outside of crystal ). The watch looks great, no complaints about that.

Take note before you buy any of these watches from Omega that have the Double anti glare. THEY SCRATCH EASILY !! Mine scratched after 2 months and Omega will not warranty it. In fact, if you go to their website, they don't even have a customer service number and it states this:

"Due to the considerable interest shown in the OMEGA brand, our staff is answering an unprecedented number of inquiries. Therefore, you should expect a response time of at least four weeks. We thank you for your patience and understanding." ONLY THROUGH EMAIL

I feel that after spending $4000 on a watch, that they should replace it or at least re-imburse the cost. They do not and will not, so you are stuck with a scratched watch.

Save your bucks and get a ROLEX or Tag. Customer service on these Omega's are NILL !

Omega Men's 2210.50.00 Seamaster Planet Ocean Automatic Chronometer Chronograph Watch

The Omega watch story begins in 1848, when founder Louis Brandt began hand assembling key-wound precision pocket watches from parts supplied by local craftsmen in his principality La Chaux-de-Fonds, in the northwest corner of Switzerland. However, the Omega name didn't appear until 1894, after Louis Brandt had passed away and his watchmaking traditions were taken over by his sons, Louis-Paul and Cesar Brandt. Omega watches have long been associated with glamorous screen and sports stars--the Omega Seamaster is famous for being the watch of choice for James Bond--with current ambassadors including Pierce Brosnan, Nicole Kidman, tennis player Anna Kournikova, and swimmers Michael Phelps and Ian Thorpe.

But Omega is more than just a fashionable watch. In 1965, the Omega Speedmaster chronograph was "flight-qualified by NASA for all manned space missions" as the only wristwatch to have withstood all of the U.S. space agency's severe tests, including passing grades for extreme shocks, vibrations, and temperatures ranging from -18 to +93 degrees Celsius. The greatest moment in the Speedmaster's history was undoubtedly 20 July 1969 at 02:56 GMT, when it recorded man's first steps on the Moon's surface as part of the Apollo 11 mission. Omega watches rocketed off to space on many subsequent missions, including visits to Skylab and the historic Apollo-Soyuz link-up of Soviet and American astronauts in 1975.

In more recent years, Omega created the world's first self-winding wristwatch with central tourbillon in 1994 and made history in 1999 with the first mass-produced watch incorporating the co-axial escapement, developed in conjunction with renowned English master watchmaker George Daniels. In simple terms, the escapement is the heart of a mechanical watch, generating the impulses that make the mechanism move. Omega's Co-Axial Escapement drastically reduces the friction among the parts that transmit energy to the other components, producing greater stability and precision and reducing service requirements.

Today, Omega is known for its rigorous testing of new movements, cases, and bands. Each new Omega movement is tested on the wrist in existing Omega models, while various laboratory tests are conducted to determine temperature-resistance, shock-resistance and vibration-resistance.

Anyone shopping for a high end watch should avoid Amazon. The item I purchased arrived and was inoperable. I attempted to return the item and it was immediately shipped back with a notice that Amazon would not take it back claiming there were scratches on the band. After numerous calls to customer service and a flurry of emails, Amazon finally informed me the watch was covered under their warranty program. I had to ship the item to their service center (at my own expense, including the intial shipment to try and return the item) and still I have no working watch for my wife to enjoy. To date I am out the cost of a very expensive watch, and the cost of two separate UPS shipments - including insurance coverage.

If you are thinking of purchasing a watch on Amazon, go directly to the manufacturer. Trust me, it will save you a lot of time, frustration and effort.

Ordered this product online as a special birthday present. I received the item within three working days from Amazon; only to find that this item had been previously sold and reissued again. The watch is absolutely beautiful, but the bracelet clasp was defective (unable to fasten following the vendor's instructions). I received notification back from Amazon, they had received the watch back for a replacement; however, the notification referenced "battery dead" as the reason for the replacement. I wanted desperately to re-order, but I am sure they will simply re-issue the same watch back to me. Warning: do not try to resolve problems with Amazon online; I talked to more than three foreign speaking customer service agents (all very nice); however, it remains all talk and no action! You will NEVER have the opportunity to speak with anyone who has the ability to resolve problems. It is such a shame; the watch is beautiful.

i was really happy with my purchase from amazon. i saved approximately $1k off sticker price of this watch and then didn't have to pay tax and/or shipping. i love this classic design and am so glad i was able to get it at a great price and not have to worry about it being real. i took it to my local jeweler and told him where i got it-and said if it came from amazon itself, no worries.

Citizen Men's AT0810-55X Eco-Drive Stainless Steel Sport Watch

I am very pleased with the Citizen AT0810-55x Eco-Drive watch. I checked it out in the local department store first then purchased it from Amazon at a much cheaper price. This is a sports watch, but it is pretty stylish too. The brown and black dial looks much better in person than the pictures on the website depict. The color is what sold me, you don't see brown dials too often in nicer watches.

I had been looking for an "everyday" type of watch to wear and this fits that description nicely. Along side all of its features, like "Eco-Drive", it is a very smart looking watch, with a great look and nice weight to it. It's a Quality time-piece that wont break the bank, and as others have said.. the 'brown' metallic tint to the watch face was what made me decide on this particular model over some other Citizen styles. The Amazon price is is the best I have seen.. usually always is.. and I am very satisfied.

My girlfriend bought this watch for me and WOW, it's amazing. My citizen watch that I have had for over ten years keeps ticking, so I very pleased with the brand. Very dependable, very nice and you I don't ever have to change the battery.

Michael Kors Watches Silver Chronograph with Stones

The picture does not do this watch justice. The mother of pearl face is almost iridescent, giving it hues of white, silver, pink, and green in different light. Very good buy, I'm thrilled.

Honestly, I could not love my watch any more. This picture of it does not do it justice. It is so shiny and the little crystals are petite yet you still get that classy bling that you are looking for. The face NEVER scratches, however, the band has scratched somewhat, but I don't think you will be able to avoid that with any watch unless you never lay your wrists down anywhere....Anyway, well worth the money, I get compliments all the time, and if they don't compliment, they are sure eyeballing my gorgeous watch!:) I want the gold and white one now....:)

The watch I ordered arrived on time and the transaction went smoothly. It was the aftermath that was tough to deal with. The watch was a Xmas present for my wife that did not receive it for nearly 3 weeks after the watch arrived. A few days after opening the box, and taking it out the box to wear, the band detached from where it connected to the watch itself. When I called for a return slip I was told that I had to send an email request to a manager to get an approval, because it was now past the 5 days they they allow for watch returns. 2 days later I was emailed a notice granting me 'permission' to return it but it had to be returned within 30 days of the initial shipment date. Now I had the biggest problem of all, if you add up all the days that went by because of waiting for the holiday, when she actually was able to open the present, the band falling apart, the permission to use a return form and actually sending that in, it was now 33 days after the shipment date. So... we gotta pay someone to fix it. Jomashop charges $32.00. My wife still has a unwearable watch.

Tommy Hilfiger Men's 1790485 Black Rubber Strap Watch

I have owned two Hilfiger watches. Both lasted less than a year. The first watch stem fell out. After paying $12.00 and the cost to ship it to their repair service for warranty repair, it was declined and an estimate to fix the watch was emailed back. (double the original purchase price of the watch). When asked for an explanation why they wouldn't honor their warranty, they replied their "experts" determined it was not defective, I must have abused it. I didn't think so, but maybe.

Well shame on me, I bought another one. This one apparently leaked...it had water in it. Same story on the warranty, including the high cost to repair. I must have got it wet...duh! It's a waterproof watch...I was washing my hands!.

Never again....caveat emptor.

Received this watch as a gift from my wife, so for that reason its special. I like the fit of it, especially the rubber watchband. The band has the traditional two loops to hold the sleeve into place. I have had the watch for a year now, and one of them just ripped. The factory battery just died as well after one year. My only real complaint on this watch is the lighting. It has the illuminated coverings on the hands and numbers, and when they work they are sufficient. The problem is that they usually dont work and I cant seem to figure out why. The nice thing about the watch is that its a good functional and attractive watch for the money.

el reloj es pequeño para ser de hombre y las agujas son blancas y el fondo del reloj tan bien por eso no se puede ver con claridad la hora

Tommy Hilfiger Men's 1790485 Black Rubber Strap Watch

The History of Tommy Hilfiger In 1969, Tommy Hilfiger began his retail career while still in high school with $125 and 20 pairs of bell-bottom jeans. This entrepreneurial spirit mixed with raw talent led him to establish a small chain of retail stores, where he designed the clothes people wanted but could never find. In 1985, Hilfiger introduced his signature collection of menswear.

Since its inception, the Tommy Hilfiger brand has been built on a powerful design philosophy: Adding fresh, new perspective to traditional, all-American stylings. This approach proved so compelling, that in less than two decades, the Company grew from a single line into a global business encompassing a wide range of products. From menswear and womenswear to licensing agreements in accessories, footwear, fragrance and more, Tommy Hilfiger has become a fashion icon.

Tommy Hilfiger Watches – Classic, American, Cool It was only a matter of time before Tommy Hilfiger took on the world of watches. Inspired by his father who worked 42 years as a watchmaker in the jewelry business, Tommy Hilfiger was driven to design his own watch collection. Putting his extraordinary talents and infallible fashion instincts to the test, Tommy Hilfiger stepped into the role of watch designer. His goal was to offer the precise, reliable performance of a quality timepiece as well as the classic American style for which his sportswear was so well known. Hilfiger set out to create fashion watches of unmistakable style and exceptional value, and that’s exactly what he did.

In 1999, Tommy Hilfiger entered into an exclusive, ongoing licensing agreement with Movado Group, Inc. for the well known watch company to design, manufacture and distribute Tommy Hilfiger Watches worldwide. Meticulously designed to complement the Tommy Hilfiger lifestyle and brand aesthetic, the launch collection combined a cool, classic sophistication with quality craftsmanship.

Today's Tommy Hilfiger watches remain true to the brand's original design concept. Sporting a traditional American style with a modern twist, the latest Tommy Hilfiger watch collection ranges from stainless steel chronographs and multi-eye models, to chic designs with genuine diamonds, reversible bands, iconic Tommy Hilfiger detailing like plaid etching, and signature Tommy Hilfiger fabrics and colors.

General Information and Care Tommy Hilfiger watches have been developed with meticulous attention to quality, function and detail.

Battery Information A Tommy Hilfiger quartz analog watch has a 1.55-Volt silver-oxide battery. It is specially designed for watches and will last approximately 18-36 months under normal use.

NOTE: Frequent use of special functions, like the stopwatch timer on chronograph models, may shorten battery life.

Water Resistance All Tommy Hilfiger watches meet international standards for water resistance to 3 ATM, so faucet spray or rain won’t damage them as long as the case, crown and crystal remain intact.

DO NOT press the push-buttons on a chronograph model when the watch is under water, or it will not remain water resistant.

NOTE: We recommend that you do not get your leather strap wet. Exposing leather to water can cause premature wear and deterioration.

Tommy Hilfiger Watches Limited Warranty Tommy Hilfiger Watches (THW) warrants to the original consumer that his/her watch will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for a period of ten (10) years in the US and Canada, or two (2) years in Europe, Asia and Latin America, from date of purchase. During this period, the watch movement will be repaired or the watch will be replaced (at the sole discretion of THW) free of charge, if it proves to be defective in material or workmanship under normal use.

This limited warranty does not cover batteries, straps, gold-plating, scratches or any damage arising from normal wear, accidents or misuse, or from any alteration, service or repair performed by any party other than the Tommy Hilfiger Watch Company or one of its Authorized Service Centers. Skagen Men's 433LSL1 Slim Brown Leather Watch

This is a very nice looking watch, with a surprisingly thin case (only 5mm!), but I only got to enjoy wearing it for a few months before the crystal spontaneously cracked in my dresser drawer one night. When my wife took the watch to a watch repair shop, they quoted $55 to replace the broken crystal. That's five less than the sale price of the watch - no thanks. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted, but I won't buy another one to replace the first - twenty bucks a month is a bit high for a watch rental.

My wife bought me this watch for our 20th anniversary. It keeps good time and looks classy. I can wear it to work with a pair of jeans and a casual shirt and then keep it on for a night out in slacks and a button down. Good watch.

I've had this watch for 2 years. If you like thin (5 mm) & light-weight, you'll love this watch- I sure do.

Swatch Men's SUIK400 quartz silver dial chronogram black bands Watch

I was surprised how much I like this watch - very light and attractive.
The band is my biggest surprise as it is very comfortable and the watch stays in place.
The only drawback is the contrast of the minute and hour hands - they are metallic, open in the center with a small white spot (that does glow in the dark) at the end of each. However, the watch face is shinny silver and it is almost impossible to see the hands in anything but good light.
The picture on Amazon shows it as a muted gray - I wish I could change it to that - would be OK then - I'd give it a 5 star.
I do like the watch!

David

I saw this watch at Madrid Barajas airport and had to buy it... Its sports casual but has a sense of elegance in it even though it is all made of plastic! Feels very light and the constrast of the plastic with the metallic dial gives it a very good look...

My husband is in awe over this watch! In his words..there is no greater watch!! I purchased the Swatch Suik400 for Christmas to give to my husband and I could not have made a better decision. This watch is durable, water resistant 30M,chronograph,quartz movement, date display. My husband highly recommends it.

Casio Men's PAW2000-1CR Pathfinder Digital Multi-Function Resin Band Watch

This is my first Pathfinder and I am really impressed. I am putting it through its paces right now in Afghanistan and it is doing very well. I bought it to replace a 4 yr old G-Shock (tough solar) that would not recharge anymore. The functions are great. The compass is accurate for general direction and navigating. The barometer has been on par with several other instruments I have at my dispossal in the military. I have not had a chance to really play with the altimeter but its generally within 5 ft of the GPS unit I also use. I had to go into the programing and input the lat and long for my position (extreamly easy) to get a more accurate sunrise and set times and they are spot on now. I see some of the other reviews about the functions and I offer this. If your are trying to reach a barn a few miles north of your position then the watch will get you there (if you have oriented your map properly and know how to do terrain association of course). If you are looking for a roll of quarters on the ground the same distance away, use a GPS. The only reason I didnt give it a 5 star rating is comfort. It has a great large face and unless you cinch it down tight (not comfertable) it will slide down and pinch the top of your wrist when you turn it up during some activities like pushups or holding a guardrail. Also, It has two small "wings" underneath it that keep the watch centered really well on your wrist and support the bands. The draw back is that despite the fact that I am not a hairy man, those little plastic parts have managed to pull and tug on all 4 hairs on my wrist...not comfertable. I typically wear my rugged time peices through just about anything...I take this one off before I go to sleep to keep the hair pulling and wrist pinching to a minimum.

First of all, I just want to say that this watch looks great on the wrist, and it has a decent size. I like all of the features provided on this watch. First of all, the Altimeter, Barometer, and Compass are amongst the favorite of my features. The Barometer can be extremely accurate, along with the compass. Sometimes the Altimeter can be off measurement, but you can adjust that. I've been wearing this watch for several days now and I plan to never take it off. It just has features that blow every other watch I have in my collection away. I always use the stopwatch and countdown timers on any digital that I have and this one adds ABC features on top of those as well; world time, atomic time keeping, and solar power, and 100 meter water resistance are all just pluses in an already feature laden time piece. Not to mention the sunrise and sunset time's feature, which is really useful for maximizing the use of one day. All in All, I give this watch five stars from a dramatic improvement on Casio's part from the PAW-1300.

Update 6/22/10 *.*.*.*:

As per other reviews, after owning the watch for a couple of months, I agree that the rubber strap is very uncomfortable. Not so much the strap itself, but the little rubber wings do tend to pull wrist hair. This watch however, does accept one piece nylon straps (22mm is correct measurement) without strap adapters; just rip off the old rubber strap and wings and replace. I myself have changed the strap to an old 21mm nylon strap laying around in my drawer and the watch is way more comfortable. All in all, a very accurate timepiece; with a simple swap of the band, the watch has become more comfortable to wear.

so, like you i read every review i could on this watch..which one to get, its alot of money, so i kept reading everything i could, the PAW 2000 is excellent, 1st the bad things...the altimeter isnt really accurate, it works on air pressure, so at my house my altitude can change up to 100 feet due to weather conditions...no biggy though...i can reset it manually(20ft increments)just have a reference to zero it in at(find online easy). 2nd is the radio updates it recieves at night...its kinda a hit and miss depending on weather conditions( and where you put it at), i live in washington state, kinda far from fort collins CO, but mine updates about 3 times a week, i also have manually updated it during the day and takes about 10 minutes and afew trys(has a indicator on your signal strength). 3rd the LED backlight needs to be alittle longer, you have a option of 1 sec, 3 sec...a 5-8 sec would have been nice, especially when you trying to use one of the ABC functions at night and they have a slight delay to get thier measurments. 4th temp doesnt get accurate readings unless the watch is off your wrist, or temp is higher then 90F, takes about 10-20 minutes to get accurate reading(+/- 1-3 degrees according to airforce base weather station a mile away). 5th alarm could be alittle louder
6th very big instruction manual, take it 1 step at a time, time zone 1st, next set you lat/long as close as you can(comes with lat/long for major cities)shouldnt be hard to find, this will get you your sunrise/sunset times(which is why i bought this over the 1500...and accurate with no preprogramming by user except for lat/long)also, setting for GMT(zulu) wont work with daylight savings time...so pick another city(lisbon/paris) if you use GMT for second time zone like i do or you'll be a hour off...thats about it...all the measurements except for mentioned above are fairly accurate, has 5 alarms, chimes at top of hour, 12/24 hour format, timer(24hour coutndown) stop watch, and barometric grapgh that auto updates every 2 hours letting you get a good idea on how weather is gonna be....but remember...its a watch..used to tell time, which it does accurately..its nice saying...im right your wrong, my watch is synced off a atomic clock:) great buy, no regrets...hope this helps:)

  • Multi-band 6 atomic timekeeping, tough solar power, power saving function
  • 12 and 24 hr. formats, 1/100 sec. stopwatch, 5 daily alarms, countdown timer, sunrise and sunset data
  • World time (48 cities), digital compass, altimeter, barometer and thermometer

Most popular Wenger Men’s 70891 Swiss Raid Commando Green-Accent Black Rubber Strap Watch

This watch is branded after the famous ‘Swiss Raid Commando’ military competition held annually in Switzerland and France since 1986 of which Wenger is a sponsor. The watch features the SRC logo on the obverse in color along with the French language motto “Vouloir, Croire et Oser”, which translates in English to “Want, Believe and Dare”. This branding may be important to a special ops soldier, military veteran or collector, but it should be understood that such branding comes with a price premium.

PROS:

Overall the watch has a heft and feeling of quality and refinement, it should prove quite satisfying for those looking for a unique style military piece. The stainless steel case is coated in black via Physical Vapor Deposition, or PVD which bonds to the steel on a molecular level, meaning no chipping or flaking and high resistance to scratching (as are the crown and two activators). The mineral crystal is slightly domed and without flaws. The screw back is non-coated stainless with the SRC color logo inset at center and encapsulated in what appears to be mineral crystal. On the back is also the lightly etched Wenger logo and specs.

*The face of this watch is the draw for many; a large clean, crisp dial in “nuclear green” with three sub-dials in the same hue. The watch is quite readable at most angles although the rather large arrow point hour/minute hands can obscure the sub-dials. If you want something strikingly clean and purposeful, this is it.

*The luminance of the dial at night is astonishing! Every detail is visible in the dark after just a couple hours of sun. If the watch is exposed to sun (even overcast, winter skies in the Northeast US) it will be visible throughout the darkest, moonless nights. I have never owned a watch with this ability.

*The rubber(*) strap is substantial and comfortable.

*The 30 minute/12 hour chronograph is intuitive and accurate. The lap time feature is easy to use.

CONS:

You can easily buy a watch with the same quality and more functions for less money. Without the SRC branding, unique style dial and Swiss caveat this watch would be priced $100 less.

*I am a fan of the accuracy of battery-quartz watches, but there is no excuse for selling one at this price point without a solar recharging system similar to Citizen’s Eco-Drive. I purchased this Wenger despite the fact that one day in the near future I know it will stop working and I will have to take it to a jeweler for an expensive battery replacement/resealing. The Japanese have figured out how to do this, why haven’t the Swiss?

*Lacking a screw down crown and only certified to 10atm is a bit lackluster for a $220+ watch branded to a rigorous military competition. I would be highly dubious of jumping into a lake or snorkeling with a watch lacking a screw-down crown. I own two Citizens (one titanium) rated to 20atm with the same features plus solar and screw crowns costing $100 less. Once again, the Swiss need to catch up.

*The crystal is neither sapphire nor non-reflective, add to that its slight dome and I wonder how long before an unsightly scratch? A rugged military time piece of this price should have a sapphire crystal.

*While the rubber(*) band is comfortable and thick, it’s also quite gummy. Time will tell how durable it is but it seems as though if pulled too hard over time it might harden and separate. Once again I feel a military branded piece such as this should have been given a more durable band.

SUM UP:

While this Wenger is a quality watch and has some collector appeal, its main selling point is appearance, not function or economy. There are dozens of watches which perform the same functions with similar or better quality at a much lower cost. But if you’re a sucker for a striking “nuclear green” on black watch which will perform perfectly until the battery runs out, then you’ll buy one just as I have and enjoy it in the dark!

(*)It is unclear whether the band material on this watch is organic rubber or silicone rubber. The Wenger site states that the band of this watch is “rubber” while using the term “silicon” for bands on other watches. This is an important distinction and one which Wenger should clear up.

I have owned a few watches but this one keeps drawing me to wear it. The bright “nuclear” style green dial is very cool, and the lumination is good in the dark with only a short exposure to light.

Pros:
- Attractive, clean dial and face. Easy to read fonts, hands and dials.
- Intuitive and accurate chrono operation, like a standard stopwatch.
- PVD black coating is durable, and semi-matte finish.
- Very avant garde style, especially in the business world. I get compliments on it all the time. Military-types love it.
- Interesting heritage and tribute model. The symbol on the case back is a nice touch for collectors.
- Date display without too much additional information like day of week or month.
- Easy to set and maintain. Crown increments are easy to hit for setting.

Cons:
- Price. As others have indicated, this is a *bit* much for a quartz movement, mineral crystal and non-screw crown. If you can find one for a good price, its good quality though, and worth it.
- Mineral domed crystal. Sapphire would have made much more sense as this is a “ruggid” model. The mineral domed crystal also distorts the view at an angle, and produces pretty bad reflection.
- Silicon/rubber band. Makes my wrist sweat more than anything else I wear, including steel bracelets and leather. It does seem durable though, and the 2 band end slips are a nice touch.
- Non screw-down crown. The Wenger manual that comes with this watch suggests you *not* wear this in a hot shower. That is quite inconsistent with the theme of the whole thing.

As others have stated, this watch is about style. If you like it, its good quality and looks great. Not a single problem with it so far, and I keep coming back to it over my more traditional “diver” style watches.

UPDATE: I’ve had this for almost a year now, and I wear is semi-regularly. The band is starting to show signs of wear, in the form of shiny spots. Not a huge deal, but something to be aware of. Time is still accurate, and it is functioning well. Would still buy again .

This watch is all about quality at a reasonable price. There is a number of specific details about this model that might be good to know in advance:
1) The longest hand is a timer hand that indicates seconds; the bottom and the left dial are for the timer as well (indicating hours and minutes respectively).
2) The watch shows date, but does not indicate month or day of week. However, in most cases, having your watch show you months, days of week, moon fazes, altitudes, bearings and stock tickers is excessive, IMHO anyway.
3) The watch band is not made of rubber – it is actually made of some rather heavy-duty flat-black silicone with anti-slip texture on the inside. This is perfect for the supposedly military application of the watch. Silicone is easy to clean, it lasts longer than any leather (real or otherwise), and it feels much more comfy and soft than any kind of braided nylon.
4) Date can be changed separately from time by pulling out the crown one more notch.

There are only a few minor cons that I want to mention:
1) The crown is not a screw-in type.
2) A crystal is not sapphire and it is not a sunken-in kind.

Citizen Men’s BL5400-52A Eco-Drive Stainless Steel Sport Watch Reviews

After having this watch for 3 months I have had no problems with it. It keeps time well and looks nice, I receive compliments on it often. The crystal seams to be durable I do not have any scratches on mine after 3 months of use. It is a little hard to set the time and date so don’t loose your instruction booklet (I think you can find it on Citizen’s website if you do). Overall it is a quality timepiece and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. I also like that I will never have to buy a battery for it, just another plus in my book.

I received this watch as a wedding gift from my bride/now wife. I had a hand in picking out the watch because I have very picky tastes when it comes to watches, and few watch bands fit my wrist without adding links.

Pros:
Durable & well-designed
Easy to use
Perpetual calendar
Classy

Cons:
Documentation limited
Chronograph limited

So far, this has been an outstanding watch. I ride horses and I do a lot of things that can be hard on watches, and so far, the watch face, band, and housing haven’t picked up so much as a nick in the 3 months that I’ve had it. I am very impressed with the durability of this watch. By comparison, other watches I have owned have had a scratched face within 1-2 months out at the barn.

I have had to do a full reset on my watch, and the instructions worked well. The watch hands were off slightly when I brought the watch home, and after reading the manual, I was able to determine the steps and follow them step-by-step without an issue. After two months, the watch hands have not wandered again, so this was just a one-off event.

The perpetual calendar is a nice feature. Having rolled through a couple of month changes, the day is still showing the correct day of the month. When they say set once and never set it again, they meant it.

If you are buying this watch for the chronograph feature, consider carefully whether you need something more robust than what this watch has. As explained to me by the jeweler (and covered in the manual), the chronograph only counts up to 1 hour. If you need to measure longer than an hour (useful when horseback riding), you may need to consider getting a stopwatch or a different watch.

I absolutely love the Eco-drive capability in this watch, though I haven’t owned it long enough that battery life would have been a problem. Since owning it, I have not received any power warnings from the watch, and it seems to charge just fine with normal daily wear.

One surprise I ran into with this watch is that the luminous watch hands and dial give off more light in a dark setting than other watches that I have owned, and they seem to hold their glow longer. I also own a Dakota Spider, and it always seems slow to build up enough energy for the watch hands to glow, and it never lasts all that long. I am very pleased with the luminescence of this watch in the dark.

There are only two things that disappoint me about Citizen with regards to this watch. Although it has an E820 movement, and the E820 manual is available online via Citizen (and other sites), it is a generic manual and not specific to this watch. Several sites make reference to the rotating inner dial, but I have not found any that provide explanation about this slide-rule and how to use it. Perhaps if I was a pilot it would be more obvious — but I would have expected at least some sort of explanation to be in the manual. The second concern is that the model number BL5400 is printed nowhere on the watch that I can see, so unless you know exactly what you are looking for, it is hard to find the specifications for this watch online.

I am glad my wife bought this watch for me, and I would definitely make the same decision again if I had it to do over. This is an outstanding watch.

(+)Casio Men’s PAW5000-1 Pathfinder Solar Power Blue Dial Watch

Casio

I was intrigued by a new watch by Casio the Pathfinder 5000-1.
My disclaimer I used a Casio G-Shock Watch while stationed with the Army in Iraq. The watch held up to harsh conditions. My only concern was if the watch batteries die I will be without a watch. Casio has taken away that worry with what they call Tough Solar. You do not have to worry about batteries anymore.

Pathfinder 5000-1 has a analog face and along with a digital readout, It packs a lot of technology in a small package. Features such as timer, alarm, stop watch mode are standard on most watches but the Pathfinder 5000-1 has much more. It is a rugged but sharp looking watch which gets the time by Atomic Clock and has a daylight saving time override. The watch has a built in compass, attitude, and barometer. There are three buttons on the side that have those functions. I never get tired of holding the compass button down and watching the second hand point to North. The digital readout has an arrow and tell you the direction you are facing. The barometer is quite useful in seeing if the weather is going to change. The watch module is very fast and you can easily switch modes. The light button is a white light so you can see your watch face at night.
The Pathfinder 5000-1 is Casio is top of the line Pathfinder watch. It is a not a small watch but then again it is packed with a lot of features. This watch you can wear out to dinner or take out on combat mission. It is light and has a rubber watch band which will last the user a long time and is easy to clean.
It cost more than the other Pathfinder watches. But the old saying is you get watch you pay for holds true with this watch. The watch retails for $ 550.00 .

Eric Shuler

My gf told me I should find a 1 thousand dollar watch as a symbol to show my class and status.

Well, I am a geek and this watch fits the bill very nicely at less than half the budget.

A Tag Heu** was what my gf wanted me to get; but to show my class and status, I had other criteria in mind. Because I travel a lot in addition to hiking and working out, I wanted a watch with gps functionality and a heart rate monitor. No such device exists that I know of. Casio’s Pathfinder series with the standard ABC functions however piqued my interests. What really geeked me out about this watch is that it’s pretty much self-sufficient. It is almost always accurate (self correcting tough movement and 6 channel atomic clock radio) and never needs rewinding (solar powered). Ok, it’s not the only watch in existance that calibrates itself to the nearest atomic clock, but how many of those watches can tell you the elevation you’re at, the temperature, barometric pressure, or where north lies? Granted even when I’m hiking I don’t need all that information, but it is cool to have. What makes the difference between this and other pathfinder watches, is that this is the only one with analogue hands. Except for the redundant text all over the face of this thing, it has enough class that even my gf approves of my wearing this at dressed up occasions.

  • Multi-band 6 atomic timekeeping and tough solar power
  • Triple sensor (altimeter/barometer, thermometer, digital compass)

The black resin case and silver-toned stainless steel bezel are great durable materials to protect this watch and complement the style as well. Swatch Men’s CORE COLLECTION YOS413 Brown Leather Quartz Watch with Black Dial

This is MEN’S watch, not WOMEN’S! If you go to Swatch.com, you will find it in their Core Collection for me. I am speechless. I bougt it for my boyfriend after I saw it on Swatch official website first.

I saw this watch first at Heathrow airport tax free in August but with UK prices being high even there I chose to wait until I could check out Amazon. As Swatches go it’s still a bit expensive but well worth it. To my surprise I haven’t had any comments about it but it is a very good looking watch that is a delight to wear. However, I don’t know why they call it a women’s watch. This is definitely a man’s watch or one for a woman who wants a huge watch to stand out. Word of warning, though. If you are a guy with thin wrists, you’ll probably find yourself using the last available hole on the wristband. Even further indication that this is not sized for women. BTW, the wristband buckle is a regular one and not some kind of clasp as sometimes portrayed. Other reviews have mentioned that it scratches easily and this can easily happen. It is a large and bulky watch that you need to be aware of. Definitely one not to wear for any kind of activity that involves tight spaces.
